"UNFILTERED"
Explorations of Life, Identity, and Boundaries by New Voices of Contemporary Art.
"Unfiltered" is an art show that strips away the boundaries between
the artist's inner world and their audience, offering raw, unrefined
expressions that speak to the heart of human experience. The
exhibition embraces vulnerability and authenticity, inviting viewers to
confront uncomfortable truths, untold stories, and emotional complexity.
Each piece is a window into the artist's unvarnished vision, free from
pretense or expectation. By challenging traditional norms of beauty and
presentation, "Unfiltered" asks us to reconsider what we value in art,
urging us to find meaning in imperfection, spontaneity, and the messy
beauty of real life.
From the curator, Renato Miracco -
Welcome to Spiralis Gallery and to this unique exhibition.
In a democracy, the exchange of ideas and the celebration of diverse
perspectives are fundamental. The arts offer a powerful space to
engage with others' experiences and stories. Art fosters conversation,
bridges differences, and sparks dialogue and understanding.
The artists featured in Unfiltered come from varied backgrounds and
countries, and they express their visions through diverse mediums-
from collage to photography, painting to AI-generated sculpture. Their
works reflect on how gender and identity are constructed, and how
they are performed in daily life. As we engage with these artworks, we
are invited to consider the performative nature of our own lives-
to recognize how identity is shaped and expressed every day.
How do we perform and display our identity? Often quietly -
sometimes recklessly - we construct our appearance and sense of self
in myriad ways: through what we wear, how we carry ourselves, what
we read, who we befriend, what we eat, and whom we love.
The artists in this exhibition draw attention to these subtle yet
powerful markers of identity-the traits that both connect us to larger
communities and define us as individuals. You may find reflections of
yourself in their images or connect with the emotions they evoke. By
looking more closely at ourselves, might we also better understand
those around us?
Welcome to Unfiltered. This exhibition is not only an invitation-
it is a challenge.
