All of the other floats in this parade had a realistic sense of place except this one, which felt like a fun thought exercise on the part of the float designer. I felt compelled to make it part of my series once I saw the hot air ballon in the original watercolor. I used entirely upcycled fabrics in this piece - they came from a silk curtain remnant that a lovely friend gave me.
