Francis Eck

Francis Eck was born in 1949 in Dannemarie in Alsace, France. He had a love for nature and spent his childhood observing animals and dreaming in the fields and forests.

He later became a physical education instructor and practiced for 15 years before his desire for sun and turquoise water led him to transfer to St. Barthelemy and then Guadeloupe. During this time, he began expressing his love for nature through painting and eventually gave up his job to dedicate himself entirely to painting.

He moved to Saint Martin and continued to find inspiration in nature and the sea, which allowed him to advance towards the essence of his subject. His paintings combine reality and abstraction, and are nurtured from exterior elements.
